HKS Medical Information Systems Releases OTTR Webportal

OMAHA ( Neb. )-HKS Medical Information Systems is proud to announce the release of its OTTR WebPortal Product. OTTR WebPortal is a web based companion product for its flagship software application, OTTR.

OTTR is a longitudinal patient tracking system that utilizes client server technology. All data is stored in either a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Oracle database running under Microsoft Windows 2000 server or Microsoft Windows Server 2003. The OTTR 5.0 client runs under Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

OTTR WebPortal solves the challenge of allowing access to patient data from remote locations using varied technologies such as web browsers, differing OS platforms and handhelds. OTTR WebPortal is intended for use by team clinicians away from their desks or clinicians from home or off-campus. For centers who wish to build a tighter relationship with their referring physicians, OTTR WebPortal optionally supports remote access by referring physicians. When referring physicians access the system, they view only their referred patients.

OTTR WebPortal employs a server side java based web-server running on a Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows 2003 Server platform. It uses ODBC connectivity to connect to either a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Oracle database.

Clients connect via 128-bit SSL encryption using any web browser. This allows users to connect from a variety of platforms including Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, unix, and handhelds.

OTTR WebPortal allows for the viewing of all pertinent patient data stored in the database under the same extensive security model employed by the OTTR 5.0 client / server application. It also allows for the recording of patient progress notes by a clinical user.
